Located in northern Montgomery County, Clarksburg, Dickerson and Boyds are lovely small towns that retain calm rural atmospheres. Children in Clarksburg, Dickerson and Boyds attend nationally-recognized Montgomery County Schools. Each of the three small towns has significant distinctions.
"A New American Classic Town," Clarksburg is a combination of the new and the old. The town was founded in 1752 and combines a charming rural ambience with new neighborhoods and business parks. Nature surrounds Clarksburg and can be experienced up close on the trails at Little Bennett Regional Park.
Dickerson is nestled in the foothills of Sugarloaf Mountain in a rural area filled with dairy farms, cattle farms, crop farms, nurseries and horse farms. Several industries are located in the area and a careful balance is maintained between the agricultural and industrial aspects of the town. White's Ferry in Dickerson is the home of the only regularly operating ferry on the Potomac River.
Boyds was established around 1876. The land was then turned into dairy farms and the town remains a closely-knit agricultural community. Boyds is the home of the Maryland SoccerPlex, located in South Germantown Recreational Park.
Located in southeastern Frederick County, Adamstown thrives among rolling farmland, creeks, meadows, forests and historic battlefields. Views of the Catoctin Mountains are breathtaking. Children in Adamstown attend schools in the award-winning Frederick County Public School system.
